BIGCATCH SOCIAL FISHING CLUB RULES 2009

Rules of the Big Catch Social Fishing Club (BCSFC)

2009 Competition Weigh in Calendar and Times
Fishing in regular monthly meetings will commence at 1pm on Friday and the weigh in will commence at 1pm on Sunday.
During daylight savings months, fishing will commence 1pm Friday and the weigh in will commence at 2pm Sunday.

The weigh in dates for 2009 are as follows with the competition commencing on the Friday prior.
January, 18th
February, 22nd
March, 22nd
April, 26th
May, 17th
June, 8th
July, 12th
August, 16th
September, 6th
October, 11th
November, 1st
December, 6th

Competitions held on a Long Weekend where as the Monday is a Public Holiday an additional days fishing will be allowed and the Weigh In will be held on the Monday at the relevant time.

Catch and release entries (that are not brought and uploaded on the relevant weigh in day) will need to be submitted to the nominated forum or emailed to
waykel@tpg.com.au no later than 11pm the day after the weigh in.

To accommodate members that can not attend the normal weigh in time, Members may weigh in their fish prior to the Official Weigh In if:
· They have their fish weighed and witnessed by a BCSFC Committee Member or Sponsor.
· Fish must be weighed by electronic means and recorded by the witnessing BCSFC Committee Member or Sponsor prior to the commencement of the Official Weigh In.

Members can also have another member weigh their fish in,on their behalf at the Official Weigh In.

Late arrivals will only be accepted if you have suffered mechanical difficulties preventing you from making it to the weigh on time or you have been involved in towing another boat back into shore.

Additional outings may be announced via the website throughout the year.


General Rules
Catch and Kill

Only Fish boated with a hook and line attached are eligible for weigh-in, unless the fish is detached in the process of netting or gaffing.

All fish retained , must conform to the legal limits as set by law, and the Club rules,for both Legal lengths and bag limits. CLUB RULE IS NO FISH WEIGHED IN UNDER 27CM

All Catch and Kill Fish presented for weigh-in must be in Good fresh condition and must be gilled, gutted, and must be intact ie ; Head and tail attached.

Other fish not conforming to the “Clubs” Size limits but, conforming to the size limits of the NSW fisheries may be retained, but cannot be weighed in.

Any person found to be in possession of illegal sized fish, As defined by the NSW Fisheries or fish in excess of the bag limits set by that same authority will not be eligible for any points for the competition and at BCSFC Committee’s determination, may be barred from competition with the Club.

Any challenge as to the eligibility of fish, MUST be made at the weigh-in, to the Weigh-Master of the day. Any disagreement may be made in writing to BCSFC Committee whose decision will be final.

Catch and Release

Fish weighed in using the Catch and Release Option must be presented photographed on a brag mat or similar measuring device with the length clearly visible,to the fork, and a competition number displayed with the fish. The competition number will be announced on the website no later than 10am on the Friday prior to the commencement of the competition.

Club Bag and Size Limits
Catch and Kill

Bag
There will be a maximum of 3 fish per species or as per Fisheries Daily Bag Limit regulations. (Your Weigh In catch must not exceed the Bag Limits set by Fisheries for any one day, not a combined total of all 3 days)

Size
The minimum size limit for all fish regardless of size limits implemented by fisheries must be a minimum size of 25cm for Juniors and 27cm for Seniors, this includes every fish that do not normally have size limits enforced.

Catch and Release

Bag
There will be a maximum of 3 fish per species.

Size
All entries must conform to size limits that are enforceable by Fisheries,and all measurements must be to the fork of the tail (where applicable).

5 Points per species
1 Point per fish
5 Points per kilo
10 Points for a Club Record Fish

Club Records
A member is entitled to claim an out of competition record for a fish that is caught outside of normal competition times and must have the fish their fish weighed and witnessed by a BCSFC Committee Member or Sponsor. No points will be awarded for a Club Record caught outside of normal competition times.


Membership Fees and Conditions
Members must complete a membership application form available from the website (
http://www.bigcatch.com.au) or from a BCSFC Committee Member at the Official Weigh In.

A fee of $10 per adult or $25 per family is payable annually. A family membership includes all members of each individual family, ie: 2 adults and their children aged 16 years and under.

Juniors

A Junior member is a child 16 years and under.

Members must be financial and attend a minimum of 50% of the Official Club Weigh Ins or support the clubs fund raising to be eligible for additional benefits available for special events. This includes Catch and Release entrants.


Monthly Prizes

Catch and Kill Division
Prizes will be awarded each month for the 1st & 2nd highest point scoring seniors and the 1st & 2nd highest point scoring Juniors and a Certificate for 3rd.

Catch and Release Division
Prizes will be awarded each month for the 1st highest point scoring seniors. A voucher for first and a certificate for 2nd and 3rd.

As sponsorship levels can change throughout the year we reserve the right to change the prizes awarded with notice given prior to the commencement of the monthly competition.

There will be a perpetual trophy to all the winners, for the year that will be handed out at the Presentation Night on the 12th December 2009.
